At the ImmoAwards 2025 ceremony in Berlin, BUWOG was voted Developer of the Year. This once again ranks the company among the leading players in the German real estate industry, impressing the jury and customers with its quality, sustainability and outstanding performance.
The ImmoAward is an award presented by Immobilienscout24, Germany’s largest real estate platform. This year, it was presented in Berlin and honours companies that are compelling with their performance, customer focus and brand quality. A distinctive feature of the award is that it is not possible to actively apply for it. Nominations are made exclusively by Immobilienscout24’s independent team of experts.
Entries are assessed according to three equally weighted criteria: professional excellence, authentic customer recommendations and objective performance. Three finalists are selected from all the results for each region, and their final ranking is decided by an independent jury of experts in a secret ballot. In the property developer category, BUWOG was impressive in every area and was voted Developer of the Year 2025.
ImmoAward: Jury praises pioneering role of BUWOG
Since entering the German market in 2010, BUWOG has carried out a large number of projects and has others under construction that are exemplary for sustainable urban development.
In Berlin, these include the BUWOG WOHNWERK development in Niederschöneweide, the BUWOG SET 44 ensemble in Neukölln and the multiple award-winning 52° Nord development in Grünau – a sustainable sponge city that has been awarded the gold certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council.
The ImmoAward was presented to BUWOG Managing Director Eva Weiß and Thomas Mahler, director of development, by jury member Anaïs Cosneau, entrepreneur and real estate expert from the Happy Immo Club. In her statement, Anaïs Cosneau emphasised that BUWOG’s projects are a perfect example of how sustainable neighbourhood development can be achieved on a large scale. And: “BUWOG also stands out positively from the market with its distinctive brand, transparent communication and target group-oriented social media activities,” according to the jury’s verdict.
Daniel Riedl, member of the management board of Vonovia SE and responsible, among other things, for BUWOG development in Germany, is also delighted with the award. “Good teamwork is crucial in development, especially when it comes to large and complex neighbourhood developments – which is why the ImmoAward is also a demonstration of the solution-oriented approach and passion with which our BUWOG teams plan, implement and successfully market the many new construction projects,” Daniel Riedl says.
BUWOG’s recognition as Developer of the Year 2025 underscores its commitment to sustainable and responsible neighbourhood development. For BUWOG, serial, modular and systemic construction as well as sustainable construction using timber are important priorities. BUWOG will therefore build at least 20 percent of its new apartments using timber construction methods. Across Germany, BUWOG has a development pipeline of approximately 55,000 apartments under construction and in planning. In other words: the best conditions for new residential space from the Developer of the Year, now and in the future!
