Electromobility is spreading more and more. At least 600,000 electric cars are already on the road in Germany – and the trend is still on the up. The real estate industry also has a special responsibility to ensure that electric vehicles can also be recharged at a charging station at home. BUWOG is setting a good example in this respect.
Wood is becoming an increasingly important material in real estate construction – at BUWOG as well. We talk to project manager Steffen Keinert.
With construction of the last section of RIVUS Vivere beginning at the start of February 2021, the large-scale RIVUS project is nearing completion. In the interest of sustainability, use of the existing space is optimal, from numerous playgrounds and green areas to underground garages, a swimming pool on one rooftop and a sports ground on another – reason enough to take a closer look at the quarter and its special features with head of project development at BUWOG, Michael Herbek.

As of January 2021, the Hanau-based company will be “rebranded”: Bien-Ries will become BUWOG. This means that new construction activity will be managed nationwide under the uniform brand name.
This time in our series “BUWOG, up close and personal”, we talks to Ilse Drauch, who recently celebrated her 40th anniversary at the company.
She talks about her personal career highlights and her greatest professional challenges. Why has she remained loyal to the company in every development phase, and what’s with her Uhudler plans in retirement?
From 25 November onward, institutions, organisations and companies such as BUWOG will be showing their colours worldwide: as a sign of their joint action against violence against women, their buildings will be lit up in orange. But what can the campaign specifically achieve? And how can each individual make a contribution?
Next year, BUWOG will celebrate its 70th anniversary – an occasion that will also provide an opportunity to take a look back at history. An important milestone in BUWOG’s biography was the construction of the new customer and administrative centre and the relocation to Rathausstraße 1. The new location – Rathausstraße 1 on the edge of the quadrangle where City Hall is – has an exciting piece of city history to tell that is worth looking back upon.
