The large orange BUWOG stand is already a classic at EXPO REAL. This year, BUWOG will once again be represented in Hall B2 as part of the Austria stand. The BUWOG team from Austria and Germany will provide information about current new construction projects, news from the field of property management and activities in the area of global sales.
Expansive, orange, BUWOG: The BUWOG stand at EXPO REAL will welcome visitors on all three days of the trade fair in Munich. Various representatives from diverse areas and departments of BUWOG Bauträger GmbH and BUWOG Immobilien Treuhand GmbH from Germany will be present, as well as BUWOG Group GmbH from Austria. What is BUWOG constructing? What is BUWOG planning? Which properties fit BUWOG’s acquisition profile? What innovative construction methods, for example in the field of serial modular systemic construction, is BUWOG actively involved in? The latest new construction projects and those in the planning stage will be presented with sophisticated visualisations and aerial photographs.

The property management division of BUWOG Group GmbH will also be represented at the trade fair once again. The team will provide information concerning new developments on the market and offer expertise in property acquisition, property marketing and third-party management.
BUWOG Immobilien Treuhand GmbH, which operates in Germany, will also present its range of services: It currently manages approximately 25,000 apartments and over 250,000 m² of commercial space for institutional investors, family offices and individual clients throughout Germany.
3 questions about EXPO REAL 2025
As management board member of Vonovia, Daniel Riedl is responsible for BUWOG development in Germany and BUWOG in Austria.
What are BUWOG’s most important issues at present?
Daniel Riedl: “The most important message is that we are building again, we are acquiring land ready for development again, and we are strong in the area of transactions. This year, we have already launched an entire series of new construction projects and neighbourhood developments, which we are presenting for the first time at EXPO REAL, e.g. the NUWENHÖFE development near Leipzig, the new construction phases in the BUWOG WOHNWERK development in Berlin, and our project in Krampnitz, where we are helping to shape a new district as a reliable partner of the state capital of Potsdam. We have also launched a number of projects in Austria, including DRYGALSKI, DECK ZEHN and the MARINA TOWER in Vienna, and VIÉNO in Vösendorf. Last but not least, at the trade fair we are presenting quite a bit that sets BUWOG apart from other companies: our sustainable activities, for which BUWOG has just received another award, our commitment to serial modular systemic construction, for example with our partner GROPYUS, as well as our commitment to architecture and art and our BUWOG-Podcast (in German).
BUWOG is also acquiring land again. Which properties are of interest to BUWOG for purchase?
Daniel Riedl: “BUWOG is looking for building plots in the top ten cities in Germany and the major cities in Austria. We are interested in land that offers the potential for at least 100 residential units or more, preferably multi-storey residential construction – privately financed or subsidised – and projects with a commercial component of up to 30 percent. Such a commercial component can be very well utilised, for example, with a daycare centre, brick-and-mortar retail or other quiet commercial activities accompanying residential use, and at the same time fits our profile as a private developer of residential properties.”
The area of transactions plays a significant role. Does that mean BUWOG is also building developments that can be resold?
Daniel Riedl: “That’s right. Where a project is more suited to a global exit than to the sale of individual apartments, we also aim to sell new-build properties or entire developments to portfolio holders, investors or family offices who share our quality standards and have a long-term investment perspective for a larger portfolio of new-build apartments. The important thing here is that, in practice, it makes virtually no difference to tenants who the investor is, as there is no change to their property management company or to the tenancy agreement itself. We are seeing a resurgence in demand from major players. BUWOG offers first-rate investment opportunities in the German property market and we have the appropriate properties for targeted portfolio acquisitions by fund managers, institutional investors and family offices. Our Global Exit team is also on hand at EXPO REAL to discuss these opportunities.”
