BUWOG had successful appearances last weekend at the Vienna Real Estate Fair as well as at the Expert Forum for Builders and Project Developers it organised in Hamburg shortly before.
The Vienna Real Estate Fair 2016: more exhibitors, more projects, more visitors
BUWOG Group was at the Vienna Real Estate Fair (“WIM”) at the Congress Centre of the Messe Wien fairgrounds this year for the fourth time. It took place at the same time as the final weekend of the “Wohnen &Interieur” show (12 and 13 March 2016). A platform like the WIM – a property fair for Austria’s biggest metropolitan area – is thus an obligatory event for BUWOG Group to appeal to those interested in flats in Vienna and its surrounding areas.
As a whole, the WIM reported successful growth. Among the trade fair exhibitors the 100-benchmark was surpassed this year for the first time, with exactly 104 companies exhibiting this time, and over 11% more visitors were counted at the fair than in 2015.
BUWOG’s sales team was able to present current projects in countless talks with trade fair visitors and provide interesting insight into its business in new construction. The frequency at the trade fair stand showed that the demand for personal talks is quite significant.

Hamburg Expert Forum for Builders and Project Developers
There were no less exciting discussions in Hamburg, where on 2 March 2016 BUWOG Group organised the first Expert Forum for Builders and Project Developers at the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts.
As a real estate service provider and developer, BUWOG Group invited around 40 Hamburg business people to get acquainted and exchange ideas. The welcome address was given by Thorsten Gleitz (Managing Director BUWOG Property Management Germany).
Alexander Happ (Managing Director Development at BUWOG Germany) gave a lecture on the subject of “top 10 tips in multi-floor residential construction”. The point of departure for his presentation: residential construction is considered little innovative, but the factors of success are quickly changing. Following the financially oriented products in the 90s and failure of numerous developers in the naught years, today it is essential to sell “lifestyle”. For the coming years the challenge will be to find new solutions from acquisition to project exit. Mr Happ presented the mindset of a modern builder and talked about regulated markets and “opportunities despite regulation”, customer satisfaction, visions and recipes for success.

As part of the Hamburg Expert Forum BUWOG Group was also able to secure Mr Herbert Gottschalk of TÜV SÜD for an equally entertaining and interesting talk on solutions to “the formation of mould in new construction”. Lawyer Bernd Weise talked about the “decline of community property” in the scope of the event.
At the discussion and pleasant get-together afterward there was ample discussion of the opportunities for cooperation, for instance in the area of condominium management and leasing. Prior to that Petra Langemann (authorised representative for condominium administration at BUWOG Group) provided an overview of BUWOG’s services together with Michael Höfler and Nico Schafranski (BUWOG condominium administration).
The exclusively positive feedback from the participants in the days following the Expert Forum has motivated us at BUWOG Group to organise such events in the future as well. At present we’re considering a regular event series.
