3rd place for BUWOG AG in the “ATX” category
Every year the Vienna Stock Exchange distinguishes the outstanding achievements of listed companies in Austria. The Vienna Stock Exchange Award, a joint initiative of the Austrian share issuer and investor association Aktienforum, APA-Finance, Cercle Investor Relations Austria (C.I.R.A.), Austrian National Bank (OeNB), Austrian Association for Financial Analysis and Asset Management (ÖVFA), the Association of Austrian Investment Companies (VÖIG), Vienna Stock Exchange, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ) and Austria’s certificates association Zertifikate Forum Austria, was conferred on Monday, 20 June 2016, at Palais Niederösterreich in Vienna. There are a total of twelve awards in four categories – “ATX”, “Small & Mid Cap”, “Corporate Bond” and a separate “Journalist Award”.
I am extremely pleased that this year BUWOG AG was awarded 3rd place in the main category “ATX” for the Vienna Stock Exchange Award. Ahead of us Voestalpine won 2nd place and Wienerberger 1st place – congratulations to the colleagues at these companies.
The criteria
The selection of prizewinners in the ATX category were chosen by a jury from ÖVFA (3 Banken-Generali Investment, Allianz lnvest, Erste Group, Erste-Sparinvest, Kepler Cheuvreux, Kepler-Fonds, Matejka & Partner Asset Management, Pioneer Investments Austria, Raiffeisen Centrobank, Raiffeisen KAG, UNIQA and Wiener Privatbank SE). The following criteria were assessed by the jury:
financial reporting, investor relations, strategy and corporate management, corporate governance and sustainability as well as market-related factors.
Among the approximately 330 guests at the presentation in Palais Niederösterreich, the Vienna Stock Exchange’s new management team, Ludwig Nießen and Petr Kobic, also welcomed Austria’s Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economics Reinhold Mitterlehner, Austrian National Bank Governor Ewald Nowotny as well as a large number of major figures in Austrian politics and business.
The expected strengthening of the Austrian capital market through the new management team as well as the consequences of an upcoming Brexit were frequent subjects of the personal conversations of the night.
BUWOG and the Vienna Stock Exchange
For us as BUWOG the Vienna Stock Exchange and the ATX are of central importance. Vienna is the seat of our company and a large part of the trading volume with the BUWOG share takes place in Vienna, which is why this honour on our home market is a particular delight for us and added motivation for the work of the entire BUWOG team.
